Invest In Or Donate to Farm Robot project    Scuba Diving Pictures

Last updated November 17, 2006.
Contest closed as of October 22, 2006. But I am still accepting "Other" drawings for a 25% [raised up from the original 10%] share in the profits of their sale.
This increased percentage will apply to all those who submitted during the contest as well in appreciation of their efforts.
No winners. As not one person submitted the required two drawings, but one person did submit one.  See below the only entry submitted by Bryan P.

I am trying to raise additional funds for my Farm Robot research project.
The purpose of the research is to develop robots to reduce the use of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizer.

Robots will be used for farming it is just a matter of time. They represent a means to bring back labour intensive practices to the farm, which are too expensive these days but that make farming sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Any submitted images need to have a DPI of roughly 200. The images should be submitted in the PNG format. As it keeps an image more closely to the original than a jpg does. And it should (but doesn’t have to) take up most of a 10 inch by 10 inch area at a DPI of around 200. Thus be 2000 pixels by 2000 pixels in size to optimize it for printing it on a T-shirt.  This is the DPI recommended by Cafepress.

Three possible ideas that I'd really like to see are:
1. The farm robot doing work that implies reducing the use of herbicides.
2. The farm robot removing pests thus avoiding the use of pesticides.
3. The farm robot milking a cow.
Other ideas/cartoons of course are possible.  Or if you'd like to see one of the robots I've drawn doing something that is beneficial let me know what your idea is and I may draw what you'd like to see.

For more information you can check out:  http://www.cafepress.com
For image help go to: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/sell/images

Recommend starting the images as a bitmap files (BMP) then after you are done converting it to a PNG file to reduce the file size.
This will maintain a higher quality image than a JPG file.

No pornographic material please. No offensive material.
You should let me know if you wish to have your email address and/or name appear on the web site below your submission.

Please submit your work to the following email address since it has a much larger capacity than my normal email address:
terryj.fidler@gmail.com
What will the money be used for?
1. To cover the costs of the contest I ran, maintaining this site, and advertising that I did.
2. Purchase a machine vision camera. Up to $1,000 (US$)
3. Purchase a PC104 Development Kit. Up to $2,000 (US$). I now have three PC104's but I need the development kit and some special parts.
4. Purchase of a RTOS Integrated Development Environment. Up to $8,000 (US$).
This will accelerate the development time of the software for the robot. The less time I have to work on the project
the more important that I have the tools to do this project as efficiently as possible.
5. Parts to build the body and/or higher a co-op student, or two, to work full time for 3-4 months on the project.
